According to Afterschool Alliance  transportation problems exist for many afterschool programs (click to read article) in particular transportation is a major barrier to participation in afterschool programming for students at ACE's youth iniiatives. 

Our goal is to raise $3,500.00 toward the purchase of this bus. It is in very good mechanical condition. The purchase of a bus would help us to be able to transport students in our afterschool program from their schools to the center to access turtoring, homework help and to participate in enrichment activities off campus. According to "Our Kids" there are a number of benefits of summer camps--one benefit is they stop the summer learning slide. Numerous studies show that over the summer, students can lose up to the equivalent of 2.6 months of what they've learned during the school year. By keeping kids' brains active, alert and acquiring knowledge, camp offers the chance to stem summer learning loss (click here for full read).

Your donor advised gift will support the participation of a child in a ACE Summer Sizzler camp.  ACE Summer Sizzlers offer full-day enrichment camps that run Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.  Our campus is located at 2000 Brentwood Road, Suite 9,  Raleigh, NC
